Meet the Principal

Dr. Hyllberg has been the Principal of Lines Elementary since the 2015-16 school year. 

Before coming to Lines, he was the Principal at Woodland Elementary East in Gurnee, IL for seven years. He also served as Principal at Indian Hill Elementary School and Assistant Principal at Round Lake High School in Round Lake School District 116. Dr. Hyllberg started his teaching career in 1993 for the Racine Unified School District in Racine, WI. He taught for 11 years, teaching grades 3, 4, and 6. Dr. Hyllberg has been an adjunct professor at Aurora University, Trinity International University, and National-Louis University.

Dr. Hyllberg graduated with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Evangel University (Springfield, MO) in 1993 and earned three graduate degrees from National-Louis University: a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction (1995), a master's degree in Education Administration (2003), and a doctorate in Education Administration (2006.) His dissertation was, "Social Class and the Achievement Gap: Narrowing the Gap One Classroom at a Time."

Dr. Hyllberg is a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs and Duke Blue Devils Men's Basketball Team. He loves Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, crispy bacon, Dunkin Donuts coffee, and McDonald's Diet Coke.
