Meet the Principal

As a Barrington 220 parent, Kyle Block is excited to join his home school district at the start of the 26/27 school year. 

Dr. Kyle Block joins us from Cary School District 26, where he served as Principal of Three Oaks School and earned an award of excellence from the Illinois State Board of Education for his work as a school administrator during the 25/26 school year. He previously served as associate principal at Woodland Elementary School and Woodland School District 50 and began his career as a 5th-grade classroom teacher.

Dr. Block earned his bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Middle Level Education from Northeastern Illinois University, graduating summa cum laude. He also earned his master's degree in Education Policy, Organization, and Leadership from the University of Illinois and his doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Oregon.

As a leader, Dr. Block strives to empower his students and staff to be their authentic selves because he believes everyone is capable of greatness and that leaders can create the conditions where each individual can shine at school and beyond.

When not at school, Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife, Sarah, and his two sons, Jax and Dean. He is a huge Chicago sports fan (except the White Sox), especially the Chicago Bears, and also supports the Manchester City Football Club (soccer). He enjoys reading or listening to audiobooks, especially science fiction and fantasy, as well as hiking with his two dogs.

He and his family enjoy live music and often plan vacations around music festivals.
